Your purchase of the "Florida Salutes Veterans" license plate helps people who need it most, when they need it most.   The entire $15 surcharge goes into a Trust Fund for the Operation and Maintenance of critically needed Veterans' Homes in Florida.

Many Floridians will require nursing home care at some point during their lives.  For the average person, even a short stay in a nursing home can devastate savings and leave a family destitute.  Medicaid costs for nursing home care in Florida are already one of the State's largest expenses.

State Veterans' Nursing Homes offer a unique opportunity for Florida.  Operation of our current Veterans' Homes have substantially reduced the State's share of the costs for care to a small fraction of what it must otherwise pay for this critical service.
