Is your department responsible for
my VA benefits?
Response: No. There is a distinction between the
FLORIDA Department of Veterans' Affairs and the U.S. Department of
Veterans' Affairs. VA Benefits are FEDERAL benefits and come
from the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs. This department has
NO official connection to the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs and
has no jurisdiction over them. However, our department's service
officers are able, in some cases, to assist Floridians in their attempts
to procure their benefits or to assist you in where to go to access
them. In the questions and answers below, the term "VA"
refers to the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs.
