The mission of the Fort Myers Historical Museum is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history and tradition of Fort Myers and the surrounding area. A permanent display presents photographs and artifacts related to WWII in Lee County. Of particular interest is the engine and cockpit of a P-39 Aircobra which was recovered from a local crash site.
In addition, the museum archives include photographs of both Buckingham and Page Fields as well as issues of the Buckingham Field newspaper. |
