Located at the west end of Heritage Park on Venice Avenue is Veteran’s Court, in which is found the marble Veteran’s Memorial. This twenty-one foot long monument, dedicated July 4, 1976 by the Venice City Council, honors all veterans of all wars.
East of this court in Heritage Park is the Army Air Base Court in which a one-third-scale replica of the Venice Army Airfield main entrance is located. Dedicated on Veteran’s Day 1994 by The Venice Historical Commission, this thirteen foot high structure serves to honor the many men and women who served at this base.
Located in the 200 block of Heritage Park is the original Venice War Veteran’s Memorial that was dedicated on May 13, 1954. Erected by the No-Vel Post 159 of the American Legion, this monument consists of a three foot high semi circular stone wall on which is located two bronze commemorative plaques.
