| Description: |
Located on Peanut Island in the Lake Worth Inlet, this site includes a restored United States Coast Guard (USCG) Station and boathouse. The station, a two-story frame Colonial Revival style structure constructed in 1936, served during World War II as a base for coastal patrols and rescue missions. One of four such stations in Florida, the USCG operated from this site until 1995. |
